Team of the Week cards fill Gold slots too
A card from a special set counts as the metal its rating earns. An 84 from Team of the Week or Kickoff #2 fills a Gold slot, and an 85 or 86 from any set does not, because 85 and up is Rare Gold. Repeatable Event #2 is built around it.
A card from a special set carries two labels. Its set answers a requirement for that set, and its rating puts it in a metal band like any other card: 75 to 84 is Gold, 85 and up is Rare Gold. A row asking for a Gold takes an 84 Team of the Week card the same way it takes an 84 from no set at all.
What the panel shows
Repeatable Event #1 asks for two Golds, two Silvers and two Bronzes. With six set cards on it, the Gold row reads like this:
- Two 84s on, from Kickoff #2 and Team of the Week #3: Gold 2/2
- One of the 84s taken off: Gold 1/2
- Both 84s off, with two 85s and two 86s from Wild West #2, Prospects #1, Future Stars #1 and FHC Birthday still on: Gold 0/2
So an 84 set card is a Gold, and an 85 or 86 is not. Those are Rare Gold, a band of its own.
What Repeatable Event #2 asks
Repeatable Event #2 asks for seven cards: one Rare Gold, two Golds, two Silvers and two Bronzes. Those rows come to seven, which is every slot in the challenge. It also asks for a Team of the Week card, and there is no eighth slot to put it in. So the Team of the Week card has to be one of the seven, counted as its metal.
Every Team of the Week card is 83 or better, which gives it two places to go:
- 83 or 84: one of the two Golds
- 85 and up: the Rare Gold
Which one you hold decides what else you need. At 85 or better it is the Rare Gold, and the other six are two Golds, two Silvers and two Bronzes. At 83 or 84 it is a Gold, and you still need an 85 for the Rare Gold slot. Most Team of the Week cards are 85 or better, and each set page lists its cards by rating, so the Team of the Week #6 set page shows which of this week’s fall short.
The challenge has no average, so a rating inside a band changes nothing. It can be run again and again until 08:00 UTC on 23 October, and each run pays an 86+ player.
Any set card, any metal row
The game keeps the two labels apart on its requirement panel. “Rarity must be Team of the Week” is one row and “Quality must be Gold Rare” is another, and one card can answer both. Kickoff, Wild West, Prospects, Future Stars and FHC Birthday cards all counted by their rating on Repeatable Event #1, so every set works the same way: its set is its rarity, and its rating is its quality.
So a set card you were never going to keep can fill a metal slot. If you have been keeping set cards off Gold rows, you have been buying Golds you already had. Keep the 85s and up off them, though: a Gold row does not count them.
The PTC Solver counts them this way. Place a set card and it fills the metal row its rating falls in, so an 86 goes on the Rare Gold row rather than a Gold one.
